DESCRIPTION

The Android Accessibility Suite is a must-have collection of apps designed to make using your Android device easier and more accessible. With features like the Accessibility Menu, you can navigate your phone with ease, controlling volume, brightness, and even taking screenshots. Select to Speak allows you to have items on your screen read aloud to you, while the TalkBack screen reader offers spoken feedback and the ability to control your device with gestures. Simply open your device's Settings app, select Accessibility, and choose the app that suits your needs. Android Accessibility Suite is compatible with Android 6 and above, making it accessible for a wide range of devices. Please note that Switch Access has been removed from the suite, but you can download the Switch Access app separately to enhance your accessibility experience.

Features of Android Accessibility Suite:

> Accessibility Menu: This feature provides a large on-screen menu that allows users to easily perform various functions such as locking their phone, controlling volume and brightness, taking screenshots, and more.

> Select to Speak: With this feature, users can select items on their screen and have them read aloud. This can be helpful for people with visual impairments or those who prefer auditory information.

> TalkBack screen reader: The TalkBack feature provides spoken feedback, allowing users to navigate their device using gestures and type using the on-screen braille keyboard. This is particularly useful for individuals with visual impairments.

> User-friendly setup: The app provides easy-to-follow instructions for setting up the accessibility features. Users simply need to open their device's settings, select the Accessibility option, and choose the desired feature.

> Compatibility: The Android Accessibility Suite is compatible with Android devices running on Android 6 (Android M) or later. Users with Wear OS 3.0 or later can also use TalkBack for Wear.

  • Please add screen recognition feature in TalkBack just like there is a screen recognition feature in voice over on iPhone. About screen recognition on iPhone. This feature enables VoiceOver to detect and announce elements such as buttons, sliders, icons and other elements which were not optimized for VoiceOver. Trained on thousands of images in apps, Apple created a computer vision system which enables iOS devices to automatically recognize and label buttons, icons and other elements.

  • Talkback can be activated accidentally and it is not obvious how to turn it off (hold down vol-up and vol-down keys for 3 seconds). My moto G42 has a single rocker volume key, and there is NO CONFIRMATION dialogue if I accidentally turn on Talkback (as there is on my wife's older G8). Please restore the confirmation dialogue, and make it possible to permanently disable Talkback without uninstalling, for all of us non-blind users, for whom it acts like a serious bug (not present on Apple phones).

  • I am absolutely astounded at the number of 1-star reviews from individuals who have no idea of what TalkBack is, or how it works. It's a screen reader for the blind and visually impaired that gives them access to a flat-screen device that uses touch. It's not a text to speech app that you use with, say GPS when you're a driver. Trying to do something like that is like using a shovel to drive a screw. Using a screen reader, any screen reader, is not an intuitive process and requires training.

  • the new updated talk back is very slow in many android devices. one cannot even navigate facebook like it was when we were still using talk back 9. i think developers must make the app little bit lighter. people are even opting for other screen readers seeking for help.

  • So far, not so good. Just "upgraded" to a S24 ultra from a Note 20 ultra. Text to speech is changed. This T2S app starts at the top of your screen reading all the header and basic info. Can't modify to start at a specific sentence or point in the Text. I'll update this later if I can figure a solution.

  • Hello Google, I am facing a lot of problems while using voice input in board with talkback either the voice input button does not work and if I try to type anything in Google keyboard it says Doesn't go. This is causing me a lot of trouble, I am not able to do all my daily writing tasks! For this, even after many updates in Google keyboard, the problems are not going away. It is not working in last 8 to 9 updates. This is a big problem for me, due to which I am very frustrated with Google
