  • If you're looking for usability across a broad range of devices (phone, tablet, and television) that behaves well on each of them, this is the best choice I've found so far. It's platform agnostic. Works across all of them equally well. Others tend to be platform specific or phone-centric. YouTube music is slightly lossy compared to others. This is why I keep looking over my shoulder at options (listening YouTube?) You have to massage YouTube. It's the most teachable of them all.

  • This is my updated review from February 2024. You've apparently heard and listened to your disappointed subscribers. You've updated your service to actually what I told you I like. The recommendations are great and the New Music selection is most welcome. I appreciate the cover recommendations Vs the original selections. The search options are good also. Soooo I'm completely satisfied with you. One recommendation though. Is it possible to add an 'Identify Song' button for quick radio songs?

  • Such a basic and simple feature such as searching within a playlist itself is missing. And after researching this elsewhere, it appears to be a problem ignored by Youtube/Google for several years now. Very negligent! UI and interface isn't as smooth or intuitive as Spotify however the sound quality and bass is noticably better than Spotify. 3 stars because of the description and problems I've given.

  • Hey, I am considering getting rid of my subscription to YouTube since Spotify has podcasts anyway. I'd love the app if it wasn't so poorly designed. -The music randomly stops when you exit the app - The songs play and then freeze and don't play again - maybe steal Spotify's thing where you can listen across devices. - Downloaded music still needs to buffer. -I personally don't need a video section on the music app, that's what youtube is for. Ya'll could be better than Spotify, but ya'll play

  • Edit: Years later still awful. Shuffle does not work. Randomly stops playing on Nest Device! Randomly stops playing. But the biggest issue is it will not stream in the background (screen goes off, music stops). Of course they know that you have uploaded your library in to play music and spent hundreds in new music so you are trapped. This is the shadiest thing Google has done to its users!

  • I just downloaded and signed in, and it's already either broken or trash without paying. literally every time I click a song on the home screen it plays a different, but related one. Like not even ones visable on the home screen either, it's as if it was skipping the one I picked and playing the next "recommended" song. Why even have a "forgotten favorites" option if I can't even play any of them?
