  • Yikes. The product team at Google really missed the mark on forcing this replacement to Assistant. Not that Assistant was super great to begin with - at least it could interact with my other Google apps and device to perform simple functions, fast. Gemini - when it finally does respond, usually can't do what Assistant used to do. It's a mess!

  • Gemini isn't listening automatically after it didn't understand and want me to say in different way, it requires me to manually tap the mic button to respond. Google Assistant previously did fine. Gemini seems to not having access to my work place or saved places in Maps but the Google Assistant didn't have any problems. Gemini is kinda slow for speech to text, it takes extra bit of time to respond and is not as quick as Google Assistant was, and when to stop listening after I finished talking

  • The recent update to remove the need to press the submit was welcomed, but it is still not an assistant replacement. It needs the ability to set reminders, lookup calendar items. It also needs to be conversational. Having to type or speak a response via prompt is cumbersome. It would be great as a standalone AI chat app, but as of now, replacing Google Assistant with it is the equivalent of removing your assistant.

  • Garbage across the board. The language model is maybe ok but the app is garbage, I don't understand why would Google release it. Can't even set s reminder like Google assistant does, but it replaces the assistant automatically, and takes away the ability to set reminders, calendar, alarms..... Why? It also does not allow to select texts from its answers, this had to be blocked on purpose by UI developers - again, what's the point of this?

  • WOKE! This AI model is really promising, but the training wheels on this thing are insane. Anytime you ask it's something that might be on the fringe of offensive to even inanimate objects, it corrects you and tells you why you need to be more considerate and thoughtful. Sometimes it even feels like it's trying to brainwash you. When it comes to generating images, it gets even stricter. Regardless of the context, if you include certain words, it refuses to generate an image.

  • Same issue as others are having. On my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, when I go into settings and try to select languages, the app will immediately crash. I'm not having the issue others are having with timers and the clock. Mine works fine. When I tried to email support with the address that is in the app support section, the email returns saying it isn't monitored anymore. What's worse is that a link to the support site has no selection for Gemini, only Google Assistant. Horrible support
